Why Sports Medica?
We spend hundreds of hours researching the benefits of our products, including the best ways for everyone to use them from Olympia athletes to sedentary desk workers.
We also spend a lot of time making sure our customers really understand how each one of our products work and how best to use them.
We have created videos, podcasts and informational pictures to help you use the lacrosse ball. Please get in touch to access these.
We also give a lot of free and heavily discounted products away on those platforms to encourage you to be healthy and perform as well as you can.
Our team have been using traditional methods of myofascial release for years, including foam rollers.
Foam rollers are a useful tool. They can help mobilise your knees before a work out.
But, it doesn’t really break down adhesions as advertised. It is not specific enough.
This is where the lacrosse ball is effective, particularly in hard to work areas such as the pecs, glutes, upper back and neck.
The specific nature of the lacrosse ball also allows you to use pin and stretch techniques on specific muscles. This is much more effective than stretching or foam rolling alone.

✅ BE YOUR OWN PHYSIO — The lacrosse ball is more valuable than any foam roller- It allows you to be more specific when targeting certain areas for trigger point therapy, including the hamstrings, pectorals, rotator cuffs, occipitals (base of the head) and the TFL- Get results that a foam roller can only dream of
✅ MELT YOUR STRESS AWAY — My favourite thing to do with the lacrosse ball is to roll out the occipitals- These are at the point where the back of your neck meets your head- This is where we hold most of our tension due to a combination of stress and poor posture- When you lie back on the lacrosse ball, you will have a pulsating feeling followed by a sensation that all the tension is melting away- This is an extremely effective technique that is regularly used to relieve headaches
✅ USE WHAT THE PROS USE — The lacrosse ball has become a go to product for physios, professional athletes (including Olympians) and CEO’s that travel a lot- Due to its size, it’s far more convenient than a traditional foam roller, and because of its shape it’s far more specific that the sturdiest of rumble rollers, giving you maximal myofascial release
✅ POSTURE — The lacrosse ball is the ultimate all-in-one tool when it comes to fixing posture- The pectorals (chest muscles) and TFL are the muscles that become the tightest and are the most common causes of poor posture- A lacrosse ball is the easiest and most effective way of loosening those problem muscles
✅ REHAB TOOL – The lacrosse ball is both simple and extremely versatile- It can be used to loosen muscles, whilst being firm enough to promote blood flow to specific muscles, improving stretch reflexes and lymphatic drainage
